Welcome to Week 2 of Balance Your Life, where our goal is to share interesting and helpful information on how to balance your life with your Spirit, Mind, Body and Heart. It’s going to be a lot of fun and each of us four bloggers will share a different part each Monday. Last week I shared on Overcoming Fear, where I talked about trusting God to help you through difficult situations and changes like our big move to Florida.
I will be Team Spirit and will share an inspirational and encouraging message each Monday. Today’s inspirational post is about Overcoming Fear.
This is a whole message in itself and it can be difficult to forgive someone who offends you, especially if they have not apologized. But God can help you let go of these hurts and walk in forgiveness.
This can be difficult to do but I know from experience this really works. The bible says that a soft answer turns away wrath. If one person is quiet, the other person cannot fight by themselves for too long.
You can do this by spending time with the people you love. Also by showing them patience, kindness and love, these are great keys for healthy relationships.
You can trust God to help you find inner peace and guide you daily because God knows our future.
You can walk with God through reading the bible, prayer (which is just talking to God), meditating on bible verses and the positive things in your life.
Yes, it’s ok to take time to relax, play with the kids, go for a long walk or drive, or watch a good movie. Relaxation is so important and it will give you peace and more energy.
Do something special for yourself, get a manicure or pedicure, have lunch with a friend or family member, sit and read a book, listen to your favorite music, or whatever makes you happy.
Enjoy special times with friends and loved ones to create new memories.
If you read the first Balance Your Life where I shared on Overcoming Fear then you know how much I love Joyce Meyer. I had chosen my subject on Finding Peace to piggy-back on my message from last week about Overcoming Fear and a day or two later one of my devotions from Joyce was on peace, how perfect! So, here’s a short message on peace from Joyce.
“Go After Peace! ~ Psalms 34:14 – Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
What causes us to lose our peace? Lots of things, running late, traffic jams, spilled coffee, That’s why it’s so important to ‘exercise’ walking in peace every day. For example, you have to decide when to close your mouth and not be easily offended. And you have to be OK with being wrong sometimes.
You can’t just sit back and wish for peace, wish the devil would leave you alone, or wish that people would do what you want. The Bible tells us to actively pursue peace. You have to make up your mind to crave peace.
For God’s Word to bear fruit in our lives, it must be sown in a peaceful heart of someone who works for and makes peace. All believers have a responsibility to maintain a spirit of peace so God can spread His Word in and through them.
Are you looking for a breakthrough in your life but no matter how hard you try, it’s not coming? It’s more than likely because you are not living in peace. So I urge you, crave peace, seek after it, and go for it with all your might!
Prayer Starter: Lord, I can’t just sit back any longer, waiting for peace to materialize. I want to actively pursue it. Show me the way as I go after Your peace.”
Wow, Joyce is so good! I love how she encourages and enlightens us to pursue peace because she knows we will be much happier by living in peace!
I hope you enjoyed today’s suggestions and thoughts on finding peace and I pray that you pursue and find peace for your life. Why not try these suggestions and see how they work.
